Born: Portland, Oregon.
Michael Fujita received a BFA in Ceramics from the Kansas City Art Institute, and MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.
After living and working in Philadelphia, PA for over a decade, he is currently back in Portland, OR, where he is working and teaching.
Working predominately in ceramics, he explores the incorporation of various materials in his objects and installations that bring up issues of use, consumption, reuse, and labor.
